BLOG TOUR: Light of the Moon by David James [REVIEW]

PUB DATE: November 6th 2012
Publisher: CrateSpace Publishing
Pages: 372
Source: provided for blog tour
SUMMARY: [Goodreads / Amazon]
Stars. Fire. Blood. Magic.
One night long ago, a constellation disappeared and fell from the sky in the form of a boy.
Secrets are being kept in the sleepy town of Lakewood Hollow, Colorado. Nothing but pools of blood and dripping words are left where bodies once were, and no one but Calum Wade seems to be worried. Life unfolds in shades of red for Calum, until a mysterious girl named Kate Black enrolls at his school and everything changes.
Suddenly a dangerous world of dream demons, elemental enchanters, and blood witches unfurls before Calum. He learns that the stars have forever held his destiny, and that the constellations above are much more than what they seem. As Kate and Calum sink deep into a paranormal war, they realize that an ancient prophecy might hold the answers they seek.
But life is not so easy for Calum, and he can feel his heart beat faster whenever Kate is close. Worse, Kate's blood holds a dark secret even more dangerous than the war between the demons and enchanters. Soon the two find that there are worse things than loving someone you shouldn't.
For Calum and Kate, even love and the fiery power of stars may not be enough to break a curse as dark as the blood that binds their destiny.
A romantic story of true love and dark curses, LIGHT OF THE MOON will leave you breathless.
My Thought's (Lisseth):
Since the first time I saw the cover to this book i was fascinated. I wanted to know the whole story and after reading the synopsis i wanted to REALLY see what it was about. I had read another book this year with the same kinda concept of a person falling from the sky (not angel) but a star. So i though, "oh this might be like that" plus i really loved that book...

Blog tour: Defy the Stars by Stephanie Parent [Review & GIVEAWAY-International!]

PUB DATE: July 30th 2012
By: Stephanie Parent
Pages: 596
Source: Blog Tour
Summary: [Goodreads / Amazon (it's only $.99!]
Julia Cape: A dedicated classical piano student just trying to get through her last semester of high school while waiting to hear from music conservatories.
Reed MacAllister: A slacker more likely to be found by the stoners’ tree than in class.
Julia and Reed might have graduated high school without ever speaking to each other...until, during a class discussion of Romeo and Juliet, Julia scoffs at the play’s theme of love at first sight, and Reed responds by arguing that feelings don’t always have to make sense.
Julia tries to shake off Reed’s comment and forget about this boy who hangs with the stoner crowd—and who happens to have breathtaking blue eyes—but fate seems to bring the two together again and again. After they share an impulsive, passionate kiss, neither one can deny the chemistry between them.
Yet as Julia gets closer to Reed, she also finds herself drawn into his dark world of drugs and violence. Then a horrific tragedy forces Julia’s and Reed’s families even farther apart…and Julia must decide whether she’s willing to give up everything for love.
[Defy the Stars is written in an edgy free-verse style that will appeal to fans of Ellen Hopkins and Lisa Schroeder; however, the writing is accessible enough to speak to non-verse fans as well. The novel’s combination of steamy romance and raw emotion will appeal to fans of Gayle Forman, Simone Elkeles, Jennifer Echols, and Tammara Webber. With a story, language and form that both pay homage to and subvert Shakespeare’s play, Defy the Stars is much more than just another Romeo and Juliet story.]
My Thought's (Lisseth):
WOAH. This book was so good. I mean it's a retelling of Romeo & Juliet. I haven't read many retellings of that story but i really REALLY enjoyed this one! ^_^

PUB DATE: October 9th 2012
By: HarperTeen
Format: Ebook ARC
Source: blog tour
Summary: [Goodreads / Amazon]
Nothing ever happens in Norway. But at least Ellie knows what to expect when she visits her grandmother: a tranquil fishing village and long, slow summer days. And maybe she’ll finally get out from under the shadow of her way-too-perfect big brother, Graham, while she’s there.
What Ellie doesn’t anticipate is Graham’s infuriating best friend, Tuck, tagging along for the trip. Nor did she imagine boys going missing amid rumors of impossible kidnappings.
Least of all does she expect something powerful and ancient to awaken in her and that strange whispers would urge Ellie to claim her place among mythological warriors. Instead of peace and quiet, there’s suddenly a lot for a girl from L.A. to handle on a summer sojourn in Norway!
And when Graham vanishes, it’s up to Ellie—and the ever-sarcastic, if undeniably alluring Tuck—to uncover the truth about all the disappearances and thwart the nefarious plan behind them.
Deadly legends, hidden identities, and tentative romance swirl together in one girl’s unexpectedly-epic coming of age.
My Thought's (Lisseth):
Hmmm...i don't know how I feel about this book. It's definitely interesting. The cover is GORGEOUS!! I went into this with a vague idea of it containing Valkyries. And i LOVE anything with NORSE MYTHOLOGY. SO this was a definite attraction. There was good and bad in it for me.
