In one sentence: A seriously impressive, swoon-y, addicting, and fresh contemporary YA novel.

Long Version: Since this is an ARC, I'll keep it spoiler free. As someone who rarely reads contemporary ya/na books, this book was was overall amazing, with the exception of one minor thing at the start of the book. Going into the book I was pretty unsure of what I would find. The story sounded interesting and the main character was on the plus side.

Out of the many things I liked, one of the things i loved about this book was that i could relate to Libby and Adam. There stories are so different and yet they really do understand and support each other. Libby is dealing with getting over a guy that only liked her physically and Adam has been through a lot of hard sh*t in his young life. Adam was tough on Libby and was 100% honest with her and yes he came off as a jerk but he was just intense because he cared for Libby, a lot. Libby kinda frustrated me at the start of the novel because she couldn't see how Owen, her college boyfriend, was using her. At points she knew he was treating her bad but she made excuses, and I felt just as angry and upset as Adam. There romance was well done too, it wasn't insta-love and it just felt right. They had there intense moments and their sweet.

Another aspect I love were the supporting characters. I haven't read the first book but I might give it a go because all of Libby's friends on the Science Squad seemed so chill and friendly. They were witty, awkward, and nerdy. They were also brutally honest with Libby and were super concerned with her changes and life choices. As true friends should. Also Libby's parents were the coolest. They were supportive of there daughter and her dad was a pro skier, extremely cool ;)

My number ONE MOST FAVORITE PART OF THIS BOOK WAS ADAM! Seriously where can i find him. He has become one of my favorite characters. Even though he was tough with Libby, he was sweet, understanding, broody, wise, and witty. Since it was in a dual POV, I got to read what was going through his head and I fell REALLY HARD for him. He went through so much but was a responsible, mature, and caring person. He was a true gentleman and ARG!!!! I loved him. It definitely helped that he had tattoos, piercings, and was a skater. No matter what happened he would always be there, really wish Adam was real because I didn't want to finish reading about him. He gave this book a lot of depth and awww filled moments.

Almost to the end there was a scene that quite literally broke my heart, I was where Adam was once and it broke my heart too. I can't say more than that because it would spoil it, but be warned the climax at the end really got to me. I seriously don't know how I made it out of this book in one piece but I did and the aftermath was so well written and every scene was emotion and feels.

In the end, the story Kelly Oram wrote has been one of my favorites. The subject matter is more on the New Adult side but the emotions and relationships are definitely more innocent and relate-able. The characters were all enjoyable and interesting. This is a great book to pick up if you want a good dose of a swoon. 4.5/5 stars!

Dave has loved Julia for as long as he can remember.

Julia is beautiful, wild and impetuous. So when she suggests they do every Never on the list, Dave is happy to play along. He even dyes his hair an unfortunate shade of green. It starts as a joke, but then a funny thing happens: Dave and Julia discover that by skipping the clichés, they've actually been missing out on high school. And maybe even on love.

Long Version: Since this is an ARC, I'll keep it spoiler free. Let me just say that I could not stop reading this book, the writing and the characters really kept me hooked to the story. I normally don't read any contemporary books because they have lots of cliches, but this was a book full of first never making them, and then breaking that rule and doing those cliches.

I loved the first half of the book, then around 3/4 of the book it went into New Adult territory, which i don't mind but for younger readers there definitely should be a warning somewhere in the summary to let them know that there is some sexual content. Then after that in the last quarter of the book everything had a less joyful tone because of certain things that happened ;) My emotions were definitely taken on a wild ride. Also liked that Julia and Dave got there own POVs.

I loved Dave and Julia, both were funny, witty, and very close. At first I was meh about Julia but once I got to read through her eyes, I got a more complete view of her emotions. I loved the friendship they had and the connection they felt for each other, nothing felt forced and they were really sweet with each others, as friends. There was a lot of confusing emotions in that small 3/4 part of the book with these characters. I loved the side characters too! Like Dave's brother Brett.

In the end, nothing went as it should have or as i expected but i ended up enjoying the ride this book took me on. A really enjoyable summer read that kept me grinning. If you've read the book then you'll get the gif below, loved the ending!!

Adi Alsaid was born and raised in Mexico City, then studied at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Stupid question but did anyone's' STRANGER DANGER ALARM RING IN THERE HEAD at all with this ridiculous relationship? For those who haven't read it, tell me your opinion on this: A guy who all of a sudden becomes stalker-like after seeing you at the grocery store, follows you to your car, bombards you with personal questions and then punches a car after you meet is consider dreamy? No? Well that's not what our leading lady thinks.

With the way the author gives voice to Sky, it makes it her sound shallow because, as she describes him, "he's totally hot" even though he goes crazy over the weirdest things. While it is explained further into the book why he acts this way, it still doesn't make sense that she can't see that the way he is acting is scary.

I'm worried about the message that comes across having such a brainless heroine as a lead in this novel. In no way should it condone a man being possessive, aggressive nor explosive towards a woman and her just be submissive. This is completely not okay.

The fact that Sky is suppose to be this strong girl who stands up to her tormentors but then faints like an idiot after a guy grins at her is just beyond me. Does it make sense that a girl who knows NOTHING about a guy, will allow him to not only treat her like his possession but also to turn into HULK mode and not be creeped out? For any girl reading this (or guy), this is not romance. This is not love. This isn't even respect, it's an unhealthy relationship and you deserve better.

I'm very disappointed with this because It had so much potential! There were moments in the book were I saw the potential of development, moments that were warm and fuzzy but ultimately got ruined. Hopeless is truly hopeless. Overall 2 Stars.

I ended up really enjoying this book. Going into this I had no real expectations and literally started to read this because I wanted to see how this plot of getting "stuck" in a wedding dress and meeting a hot sculptor played out. Plus I want that gown in the cover XP

Any who, I loved how the author really made me feel like all the situations in the book were actually plausible and how everything clicked or was connected in some way. I liked the theme of "Disaster can bring something good" because Maddy, literally lost everything in a fire and is homeless yet she fights it through, gets the chance of her life, tries on a gorgeous dress, and finds the most perfect guy! A lot more positives than negatives. The story of course is NA, which means there is a sex scene (BE WARNED IT IS INTENSE), which I was not anticipating but it wasn't unnatural, since the chemistry between Atticus and Maddy was pretty evident and strong.

I also really liked that there was a whole other tragic love story mixed in with the main one, with Sophia the wedding dress designer and Atticus's father. It was really sad and when I learned the secret and the connection, I was like:

I had been suspecting as much but when it was verified I was like YES! Atticus is like the embodiment of perfect. He's hot, kind, funny, generous, warm hearted, rich, intense, and caring! He did suffer from being the black sheep of the family but I really liked him and reading through his POV.

The few things I kinda didn't like was the insta-love, they meet before the gown and he starts spewing poetry and how he feels a tug for her. I mean it can happen but he fell HARD for her and she took it a bit more slowly and logical. Plus when there was a tragedy Atticus went through at the end of the book, I think he got over it pretty quickly and that's something one does not move on from quickly.

Besides that, everything was good. I'm excited for the next book in the series, because I'm pretty sure it has to do with Atticus's brother, Levi, who is a douche-y jaded playboy and Jen, a single mother assistant to Sophia. Who in the epilogue have a very interesting conversation.

Overall, it had a great cast of characters, a good romance, and was a quick read. I'm definitely looking forward to book 2. Overall I give it 4 STARS!

I just loved this entire book. Overall 5 Stars! The main characters were just so different (probably because there from different planets with different views on men & women) yet somehow, Gena made them click. Everything that Katie and Jorlan did and said was just right, they were both very strong characters. Katie didn't take his "women belong at home" junk and he was pretty hardheaded about his views. He was very rough around the edges but he had a really good heart that made Katie feel cherished, loved, and lead her to soften up.

Most interestingly is that the villain of the book, Percen, got a happy ending even though he was pretty messed up. At first I was like "man he's gonna end up dead" but then he met Heather. They were both very broken people who didn't care about appearances but about the inside. I liked that they could both be redeemed and saved. It was like two really emotionally stringing stories in one book! (THE FEELS)

Man, I cried and felt so much at the end of the story, literally the feels were squeezing my heart. I was NOT expecting it at all. It was just a roller coaster of feels! I really wish there were more stories on Katie's brothers, they were such interesting characters.

Seriously though Gena Showalter is the bomb at writing these kinds of stories, worlds, romances, and characters. Amazingly out of this world, you have to read it!! And then you'll see why me and the feels where like this at the end of this book:

I've been procrastinating on reading this book until it became just down right ridiculous to keep putting it off. So with a little push, I picked up cinder and loved it! Cinder is this super feisty cyborg who happens to work as a mechanic in New Beijing. There also happens to be a certain handsome Prince and a deadly disease on the horizon, I'm just sayin'.

This books was so enjoyable that I had no issue with the predictability. It kept me engaged all the way through and just a fun read overall! But you might be asking yourself:

YES!

And no.

Like I said, there is this wonderful conflict happening to not only cinder but to the residents of New Beijing. The Lunars (Super hated by the earth people) have decided to come to earth for the first time ever. Catch is, The Lunar Queen is looking to snatch up Prince Kai and Earth all for her self. There's also this scary disease that has affected and killed many of the residents. So, If you're looking for a good mixture of genres done well, then this is your book!

If you are procrastinating reading Cinder like I was, Then I'm telling you to drop what you are doing and READ THE IT. Do it, now.

WOW. Honestly, Starting this book, I wasn't entirely sure if I would enjoy it. I'm so glad I push through a bit and finished reading it! This fantasy world is absolutely intriguing and I thought that the idea of these characters having specialized dominions was awesome. The world building in this story is well thought out,described, and its incredibly well written.

Both Taelien and Lydia are great examples of strong and likeable characters with good development. I absolutely loved that Lydia is this badass, super smart sorceress, I really liked reading in her perspective!

I think the only complaint I have is the lack of action.It's cool that they have these dominions that help them when they are in trouble but I feel like everything came to easy. There wasn't that doubt that something might happen to them. Other than that, I liked this book and hope the author continues writing more! So overall I give it 4 stars.

Honestly, this book was "WOAW!" to me and even though it was very poignant there was also a sense of Hope. From the very start I was captivated by the writing, the story, the words, and Nadia. I must admit, I love poetry, so going into Nadia's head was like reading poetry and trying to decipher the words to create the picture. But I do understand why some people didn't click with the book.

The book at first is a bit chaotic as Nadia is and maybe the chaos and the interruptions did distract from the story but they helped make Nadia into this real girl who really lost herself in Florence. Her inner struggles, her mind was a strange and beautiful place to be and especially to read about. I loved Nadia's BFF Maggie and I love that the book was in three parts and every chapter had a feather.

Towards the middle there was something I wasn't expecting but it got us to understand Nadia through Maggie's POV. We also learn of the condition Nadia has and it opened my eyes to something new and terrifyingly wondrous. Maggie stuck with Nadia and was a true friend. I went into this thinking there would be romance but the bond of friendship was the strongest element that kept hope alive. One thing that was confusing was the changing in the POV because I hadn't even noticed Maggie was the one talking until the third chapter in the second part.

In the end there was a lot that was uncertain but there was also hope. I did have lots of feels and especially wished that Maggie had found Benedetto for Nadia. Overall, I was captivated and enjoyed the beauty of the story. There was just the flaw with the changing POV that made this go to a four star book. Definitely try this if you love poetry and want to open your mind to something new.
