Waiting on Wednesday (3)

Normally I do my [What's New Wednesday] post, but will refrain from using it this month. Instead I will be doing a Waiting on Wednesday post.
So lets start with my Waiting on Wednesday. I don't actually know who hosts this but if you do please leave me a commment as to who does & i will be more than happy to give them some cred.
What AM I waiting for:
*Mirage(Winterhaven #2)
by Kristi Cook
Expected publication: June 5th 2012
By Simon Pulse
Summary from goodreads:
Seventeen-year-old Violet McKenna is back for her senior year at Winterhaven, and thrilled to be with Aidan after a long summer apart. But when a violent and disturbing vision begins to haunt her, Violet suddenly feels unsure of everything: who to trust, if she is in danger, and—worst of all—whether she and Aidan are really meant to be together.
This book from the teasers has me salivating for more. It needs to come out sooner!
Stolen Nights by Rebecca Maizel

Add on Goodreads!
Summary:
Lenah Beaudonte should be dead.
But having sacrificed herself to save another, she finds herself awakening with strange powers that are neither vampire nor human - and a new enemy on her trail.
In her vampire life, Lenah had thought that being human was all she ever wanted; but the human heart suffers pain, heartbreak and loss.
With her new powers growing and the dark force of the Nex after her soul, Lenah faces a choice: between the mortal love of gorgeous Justin, whose passion fed her human soul, and taking a different path to become the mistress of her own destiny, wherever that may lead ...
I finished the first book 2 years ago! I LOVED it. It was a very unique view on vampires for me. Will review it soon on the blog. But really 2 years and I still have to wait till it comes out in 2013!!! what? Yup that's it's release date. Plus the covers on these books are so beautiful!
Also if you noticed this is my third & not fourth WoW, I am sorry but I was tired as heck last week & my little 1 hour nap turned into a 5 hour siesta. LOL. =)
Oh well, But that's what I'm waiting on. What are you waiting on? Link it up below. I would love to check them out.

Author support! (1) + Mini-Giveaway!

This is a mene that Read-A-holicZ is hosting to display the up & coming authors that we know you will be addicted to. I actually wanted to host this on #Mirage day to promote Mirage by Kristi Cook, but I had no time.
So instead I came up with a theme/mene thingy here were I would just tell you about some AWESOME authors that aren't really well known, or they haven't "released" their books into the wild yet. As you saw, I added a tab on friday & it has a certain new author whose book I am dying to get my hands on.
(Psst: there will be a MINI-GIVEAWAY & u might WIN some cool stuff! at the end of the post)
Enough talk. Lets start!
This week's author, who's books I LOVED, is going to be...
Kristi Cook!
YAY. Even though I haven't reviewed Haven on the blog-yet-it was great! Plus I'm one of her Elite Street members & the stuff I have had access to, let me just say, it is good!
A little bit about her books!
She is coming out with Mirage on June 5th! So (Goodreads it!)It's her second book in the Winterhaven Series. Her first book was Haven which came out last year in February by Simon Pulse.
Photobucket Photobucket
A little bit about Kristi:
As a child, Kristi Cook took her nose out of a book only long enough to take a ballet class (or five) each week. Not much has changed since then, except she’s added motherhood to the mix and enjoys penning her own novels as much as reading everybody else’s. A transplanted southern gal, Kristi lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters.
Ways to SUPPORT her, Read her books and STALK her & get others to read her books, here:
*Website/ Twitter/ facebook/ Amazon
*Plus I got my copy of Haven on Friday!
***Oh yeah that mini-giveaway.*** So I'm giving away this:
All you have to do is answer this question (leave comments below):
What is the author currently on the AUTHOR SUPPORT page(on top bar) & her book that will be coming out?
ENDS Friday! Please leave email! Also it's not Kristi....sorry.

Waiting on Wednesday (2)

*A Shimmer of Angels by Lisa M. Basso
Expected publication:: November 20th 2012
By: Month9Books, LLC
Synopsis (goodreads):
A compelling and spirited debut from Lisa M. Basso in which sixteen-year-old Rayna Evans has spent the last three years locked away in a mental institution for seeing angels. Intent on remaining free, she ignores signs that she may be slipping into the world she has tried so hard to climb out of. But when her hallucinations begin showing up at school, can Rayna keep her job, her sanity and keep students from dying at the hand of angels she can’t admit to seeing?
Psychiatry, fantasy and real life come together in A Shimmer of Angels, as a young girl struggles with identity, secrets and confronting her greatest fears. A Shimmer of Angels is a wonderful read for anyone who has ever felt like an outsider, or perhaps has felt like giving up entirely. It touches on themes of suicide, ostracism and emotional pain. The author, personally exposed to suicide through the death of her beloved brother, will donate a percentage of sales of this novel to a local suicide prevention and outreach program in San Francisco, California.
*The COVER is SO beautiful that it makes the wait until November seem eternal!*
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
Expected publication: May 22nd 2012
By: Feiwel & Friends
Synopsis (goodreads):
Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he’s heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma’s gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .
Told from both Emma and Galen’s points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.
*A LOT of other bloggers that I trust have been giving this book a lot of praise, so I might have to pre-order this one*
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Devine Intervention by Martha Brockenbrough
Expected publication: June 1st 2012
By: Arthur A. Levine Books
Synopsis (goodreads):
There is a great legend of the guardian angel who traveled across time and space for the human girl he loved, slaying those who would threaten her with a gleaming sword made of heavenly light.
This is not that story.
Jerome Hancock is Heidi Devine's guardian angel. Sort of. He's more of an angel trainee, in heaven's soul-rehabilitation program for wayward teens. And he's just about to get kicked out for having too many absences and for violating too many of the Ten Commandments for the Dead.
Heidi, meanwhile, is a high school junior who dreams of being an artist, but has been drafted onto her basketball team because she's taller than many a grown man. For as long as she can remember, she's heard a voice in her head - one that sings Lynyrd Skynyrd, offers up bad advice, and yet is company during those hours she feels most alone.
When the unthinkable happens, these two lost souls must figure out where they went wrong and whether they can make things right before Heidi's time is up and her soul is lost forever.
Martha Brockenbrough's debut novel is hilarious, heartbreaking, and hopeful, with a sense of humor that's wicked as hell, and writing that's just heavenly.
*The arrow through the head makes it seem like a funny kind of story, Plus it deals with angels ( I LOVE ANGELS!)*
