You know I have been waiting for this book since I saw the cover revealed on Chelsea's facebook. I don't normally read books with mystery's in them. Mostly because they bore me to death. Thankfully all the waiting and wanting paid off because this one has made it into my VERY small pile of mystery books that I LOVE :)

I wasn't really sure what I would find in The S-Word but it definitely hooked me from the start. The book starts out with a little background about Lizzie's downfall from Angie. And having Angie narrate the story was PERFECT. She was the best friend and the one that got caught in the fire of the scandal. She was also DETERMINED. Like seriously, she could be scary at times but i loved that about her.

"Why are you upset?" I place my hand on Cara's arm, like maybe I'm comforting her, or maybe I'm dangerous. And I could be either. I haven't decided yet.

She changed after Lizzie death and the guilt that if she had helped then Lizzie might not have killed herself, kept eating at her. Seeing the HS world that Angie and Lizzie were stuck in was a shock. Everyone was against Lizzie and each had motive to torment her. So, everyone was a suspect on Angie's list. Let me tell you, Angie has some really good coercion & sleuthing skills :D

One thing that really stood out at me were the letters that Angie & a few other student's received from Lizzie's diary. Those letters messed with my head and creeped me out O_O It also gave us another look at Lizzie. She gave hints to wanting to change, to show her real self, and at times it seemed there were two sides to her. This part of the book really reminded me of another one of my favorite YA mystery books, ALL UNQUIET THINGS, which I loved! Since they both used the same technique of bring out the truth.

OVERALL: An interesting story with an even greater mystery. I Loved the writing and the clever way the truth was presented. It was definitely worth the wait!
