MY THOUGHTS:
Steel Lily was so much MORE than what I could have hoped for. I was intrigued by the synopsis, I wanted to meet Avery and her crazy world. Once i started reading Steel lily I could NOT leave it! It was a different and mesmerizing dystopian ya book! It was full of secrets, danger, romance, and a set of characters that i loved!
The World that Megan Curd created is so crazy and scary; a true dystopian world of fright. You don't know what's what and you have to be on guard most of the time. I would be terrified if i lived there. After world war III the world was in rambles and these domes were built to keep people safe. In Avery's Dome they use there skill of Industrialization, so thats where the steampunk element came in and I LOVED how it was so generously incorporated in! Also there is a shortage of oxygen which was the scariest thing i've read about because you literally have seconds before your lungs collapse and YOU DIE O.O
Avery has lived in this dome, DOME 4 almost all her life and she's special because she can make steam *which is a pretty awesome ability* so the government NEEDS her. She's had it tough and i loved her story, her past, her rebelliousness, and her witt! She was strong and yet she sometimes showed her softer side especially with her friends.
OMG HER FRIENDS and the other characters, I LOVED THEM ALL! Seriously I haven't read a book where I loved reading about every character. I Loved Sari because of her slyness and fierceness. I loved Alice because she was such a great friend and could be just as strong as everyone else, even though she had no special skill except sewing. Then there was "Legs" whom was such an enigma and so loyal. I even liked the evil characters like Erica and Mr.Riggs. All so unique in there own ways and likeable.
Oh yeah the romance. This book was the perfect amount of action and romance. The book wasn't centered on the romance but on the story and I enjoyed that a lot! I also have to mention JAXON!!!!! He's SO SWOONY HE WAS SO CHARMING, WITTY, and CARING! He's had such a tough life and in many ways he's a lot like Avery, so they understand each other. I liked him for Avery even though he was an ass sometimes he tries to change for her. He was strong, rebellious, and man OH MAN did he make me giggle and smile most of the time with his banter and flirtiness with Avery XD
I won't spoil this book for you because SERIOUSLY you have to read it to understand the feels because I bet I'm not doing such a great job putting all the EPICNESS in this review. You will definitely be captivated by the wild and dangerous world. Fall in love with these characters and the secrets they hide.
OVERALL RATING:
A unique, action packed, secret filled book that will have you flying through the pages! Great for readers looking for a different and refreshing take on ya dystopia. I highly recommend this for all dystopian and steampunk lovers! I REALLY LOVED THIS, so i'm giving it 4.5 out of 5 STARS!

Megan Curd is a graduate of Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota. While having always enjoyed reading any books she could get her hands on, Megan didn’t begin writing until a friend encouraged her to do so while in college.
When not writing, Megan enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Traveling and snowboarding are hobbies she loves, and doesn’t turn down the opportunity to play xBox with her brother and friends when it presents itself.
