Before you begin reading this review, take into consideration that I've just read the most mind-numbing novel ever. Readers discretion is advised.
Stupid question but did anyone's' STRANGER DANGER ALARM RING IN THERE HEAD at all with this ridiculous relationship? For those who haven't read it, tell me your opinion on this: A guy who all of a sudden becomes stalker-like after seeing you at the grocery store, follows you to your car, bombards you with personal questions and then punches a car after you meet is consider dreamy? No? Well that's not what our leading lady thinks.
With the way the author gives voice to Sky, it makes it her sound shallow because, as she describes him, "he's totally hot" even though he goes crazy over the weirdest things. While it is explained further into the book why he acts this way, it still doesn't make sense that she can't see that the way he is acting is scary.
I'm worried about the message that comes across having such a brainless heroine as a lead in this novel. In no way should it condone a man being possessive, aggressive nor explosive towards a woman and her just be submissive. This is completely not okay.
The fact that Sky is suppose to be this strong girl who stands up to her tormentors but then faints like an idiot after a guy grins at her is just beyond me. Does it make sense that a girl who knows NOTHING about a guy, will allow him to not only treat her like his possession but also to turn into HULK mode and not be creeped out? For any girl reading this (or guy), this is not romance. This is not love. This isn't even respect, it's an unhealthy relationship and you deserve better.
I'm very disappointed with this because It had so much potential! There were moments in the book were I saw the potential of development, moments that were warm and fuzzy but ultimately got ruined. Hopeless is truly hopeless. Overall 2 Stars.

This sounds like an emotional roller coaster, I cant wait to read it! This sounds to me like a YA contemporary drama which sounds super fun and heart achingly good for the summer. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this one on Goodreads because I'm so excited to get my hands on it soon!

I've been procrastinating on reading this book until it became just down right ridiculous to keep putting it off. So with a little push, I picked up cinder and loved it! Cinder is this super feisty cyborg who happens to work as a mechanic in New Beijing. There also happens to be a certain handsome Prince and a deadly disease on the horizon, I'm just sayin'.
This books was so enjoyable that I had no issue with the predictability. It kept me engaged all the way through and just a fun read overall! But you might be asking yourself:
YES!
And no.
Like I said, there is this wonderful conflict happening to not only cinder but to the residents of New Beijing. The Lunars (Super hated by the earth people) have decided to come to earth for the first time ever. Catch is, The Lunar Queen is looking to snatch up Prince Kai and Earth all for her self. There's also this scary disease that has affected and killed many of the residents. So, If you're looking for a good mixture of genres done well, then this is your book!

Let me explain! I'm excited not because I have read the book but because Ms. Rainbow Rowell is the queen of books and everything that is lovely in this bookish world. Either way I will be reading Fangirl soon, so I might rejoice even more with you guys!

WOW. Honestly, Starting this book, I wasn't entirely sure if I would enjoy it. I'm so glad I push through a bit and finished reading it! This fantasy world is absolutely intriguing and I thought that the idea of these characters having specialized dominions was awesome. The world building in this story is well thought out,described, and its incredibly well written.
Both Taelien and Lydia are great examples of strong and likeable characters with good development. I absolutely loved that Lydia is this badass, super smart sorceress, I really liked reading in her perspective!
I think the only complaint I have is the lack of action.It's cool that they have these dominions that help them when they are in trouble but I feel like everything came to easy. There wasn't that doubt that something might happen to them. Other than that, I liked this book and hope the author continues writing more! So overall I give it 4 stars.

The only good thing that comes with aging every year is birthday gifts. There. I said, I ain't ashamed. So for my birthday this year I got to shop at Bookoutlet and get as many books as I wanted, which I could have taken advantage of and put my dad into debt but with age comes responsibility, right? So I chose 5 books that I really wanted. (The copy of Attachments was given to me by my mama for my birthday :D )

The reason I even clicked on it was because of the oh so pretty cover and was surprised to find a really cool concept in the synopsis! Maybe judging a book by it's cover isn't so bad! In Bloom is a bright, funny, painful and refreshing novel about wanting the very best from life, even when life shows you how very bad it can be. It is a novel about how to live.
My first thought walking into this book was "OH, let this not be a remake of FIOS" and shockingly, it was not.
We are thrusted into the perspective of this 15 year old boy, who you can clearly see is struggling to come to terms with his cancer and the people the people he meets along the way. Francis is witty and incredibly funny but as mature as he may sound at times, he is in fact just a kid. We witness him sometimes being selfish, contradicting and infuriating but this just serves to remind us that of his age. I'm sure most people who have read this book have the same complaint about the character. To me though, it felt real because we aren't in the head of a full grown adult, we are in fact reading in the view of teenager.
Amber was quirky and just as witty (if not more) than Francis. Her character most of all was likable, and Amber develops wonderfully throughout the book. I think, the important part when going into this book, is that they aren't perfect.
One thing that really bothered me though, was that the story line for Francis's sister was just awkward. I felt almost like it wasn't really fully thought out and randomly thrown in there. Besides that, I absolutely love the writing style in this book! Overall I give this 3.5 (Almost 4 stars)

UHM. YES PLEASE. With the release date so close at hand (and in my birthday month), I had to have this book on my Waiting on Wednesday post. The idea behind this YA dystopian book series is captivating, and I really have high hopes for this!
I'm at that point of excitement where i'm already dream casting the characters (It's sad, I know). BTW, I'm not sure if it's just me, but can you see Cameron Bicondova from Gotham as Echo? I know, I know, I'm lamely drawing comparisons of the characters characteristics from the summary but It just clicks in my mind so perfectly. I'm so happy to say that I finally read Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes. And, I must say, WOW!
For those who don't know, this is a high fantasy type series which follows the fall of the Limerian Kingdom and the battle for power. We view this in the perspective of four young adults within the three kingdoms. There's Chloe, Princess of Auranos; The Paelsia Princes and Princess, Magnus and Lucia; and a Limeros peasant, Jonas. There is more narratives of minor characters within the story, too.
Chloe: At first, Chloe was deemed unlikeable when I started reading through her perspectives. I mean she was bratty, lacks a bit of common sense and got herself into trouble. More towards the end though, Chloe's character develops and we can see a kick butt character forming underneath. Her story line was super interesting too, She not only has an internal battles with herself but also an external one. She deals with Aron forced fiancé) whom is blackmailing her and has a murdered a wines sellers son causing there to be a dispute between the kingdoms of Auranos and Limeros. The only thing that felt a bit off was the bad case of insta-love that popped out of nowhere.
Jonas: Jonas is the brother of the wine sellers son who was murdered by Chloe's fiance. After seeing such a cruel act from this prosperous and wealthy kingdom, He decides to take matters into his own hand. Jonas perspective was the most interesting one out of all, I think that it's intriguing to read from the side of a person bent on revenge over one his loved ones. We see inside his mind and how he contours what really happened that day Aron stabbed his brother.

Overall 4.5 STARS! This book had me clinging to each page and now, I must find a way to get my hands on the second book.
I definitely recommend this for those who love high fantasy, action and doesn't mind a bit of character death and violence.

Hello! It's me again! This time I'm super eager to share with you guys the new additions to my bookshelves. It's definitely been a good book buying/receiving week and one where I got my first signed book!
P.S. Some of these books might be a little bit busted but that's because I usually get them at the goodwill or second hand shop!
